Dans le cadre de la présidence française du Conseil de l’Union européenne, cette conférence ministérielle réunira experts, scientifiques, décideurs politiques, industriels et société civile le 11 et 12 mai prochains à Paris. Elle abordera la thématique des produits chimiques, à travers la vision « Une seule santé » (« One Health », c’est-à-dire une seule santé pour la biodiversité, les animaux et les hommes).
De la recherche à la gestion, en passant par l'expertise et l'évaluation, cette conférence sera l'occasion de déterminer les grandes orientations européennes pour un meilleur encadrement des produits chimiques et d'alimenter les négociations sur les initiatives européennes en cours de discussion ou à venir.
L'objectif sera également de mettre en avant l'importance des différentes échelles d'action, ainsi que les liens existants et à construire entre ces échelles.
Enfin, cette conférence permettra d'établir des liens concrets entre trois stratégies européennes structurantes découlant du Pacte Vert : la stratégie pour des produits chimiques plus durables, la stratégie biodiversité et la stratégie de la ferme à la table.

FRENCH PRESIDENCY PRESS INVITATION FOR THE MINISTERIAL CONFERENCE ENTITLED “CHEMICAL PRODUCTS: BETTER PROTECTION OF HEALTH AND THE ENVIRONMENT”
Under the French Presidency of the Council of the European Union, this ministerial conference, held on 11 and 12 May in Paris, will bring together experts, scientists, policymakers and industry and civil society stakeholders. It will look at the issue of chemical products through the lens of One Health, a vision based on human, animal and environmental health being intrinsically linked.
From research and management to expertise and assessment, conference participants will set out the main European approaches to better regulating chemical products. The conference will also inform negotiations on European initiatives that are currently being discussed or are due to be discussed.
The goal will also be to highlight the importance of the different scales of action, as well as the current links between them and new links to be established.
Lastly, the conference will enable concrete links to be established between three key European strategies from the EU Green Deal: the chemicals strategy for sustainability, the biodiversity strategy and the Farm to Fork strategy.
